Efforts are underway in many churches throughout Rappahannock to offer money, food, clothing and other needed items to the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Pleading for a more timely and responsive effort on behalf of the victims of the worst natural disaster in our country’s history, Rev. Dr. Donald Simpkins, pastor of the Macedonia Baptist Church in Flint Hill, made a heart-felt appeal for immediate aid: “Something’s wrong . . . but God is going to help make it right!” Other area churches in the forefront of efforts to respond to this Meetings & Notices • On Tuesday, Sept. 13 the Rappahannock County School board will meet at 7 p.m. (closed session).
