Member of the Men’s Brotherhood of the Washington Baptist Church in cooperation with the Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board build an outhouse for Mr. and Mrs Henry Jenkins near Flint Hill. Mr. Jenkins is 89 years old, and he and his family were walking out into the orchard to go the the bathroom. His old outhouse had filled up and the lumber rotted, so he tore it down. He said the old outhouse lasted him and his family 25 years.... Jeanie McNear, volunteer coordinator with the Community Services Board, reported that $lo,000 worth of funds from the state housing authority were available to install a modern bathroom, but the owner of the house the Jenkinses rent did not want the bathroom installed... '
