September 11: Poker Run

The American Road Motorcycle Club will sponsor a Poker Run on Sunday, September 11 for Patriots Day. All proceeds will go to benefit the “Fisher House”. Sign up starts at 11 a.m., $10 per hand. September 11: Dances

for Universal Peace

Dances for Universal Peace, also known as Sufi dancing, will be held this Sunday, September 11, at Hearthstone School, from 2 to 4 p.m. They are free and everyone is welcome. This form of “spiritual folk dancing” promotes peace and well being both for the dancers and for the world. These monthly dances have been ongoing at Hearthstone School in Sperryville. Sushi Night

It is Sushi Night every second Monday of the month at The Griffin Tavern in Flint Hill. Fresh fish is flown in from Honolulu and this week you will be able to choose from Sashimi Platter, traditional rolls and tempura battered rolls. Phone (540) 675-3227 for information.

The Rappahannock Quilt Group will meet the second Tuesday of each month from 9 a.m. till 2 p.m. starting September 13, at Washington Fire Hall in Washington, VA. Bring your lunch and join us.
