Led by Rachel Bechtold, WCDS’s academic dean and auctioneer extraordinaire, the auction provided excitement to both the bidders and the onlookers who marveled at the record bids for the work of these aspiring young artists.
An “Underwater Life” collage of colorful tropical fish sparked a ping-pong of bids, quickly spiraling upwards, to reach $1,000. The winners were Tim and Melanie Burch. Other equally enthusiastic bidding came with the auction of twelve “Monart-inspired” dinner plates created by the first grade. Julie Vaught cast the. winning bid for the plates.
