Seeking multiple part time hires for 2 year renewable substitute pool position without benefits with the Department of Animal Care and Control at the Animal Shelter in Waterford. Position will renew every 2 years on January 1st for up to 3 renewals. Successful candidate must be outgoing, have excellent customer service skills and be a self starter. Duties include cleaning of cat cages and kennels, feeding, administering medications, socializing and bathing of animals. Other duties include keeping accurate records and participating in our outstanding adoption program. Work shift includes mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Requires a High School diploma and at least one year job related experience Basic knowledge and experience handling and caring for dogs, cats, and other small animals are required. Experience in a kennel or a veterinarian office is preferred. Must have the ability to lift and control large and potentially dangerous animals weighing over 50 lbs. Successful candidate will undergo a criminal background check, physical exam, and drug screening. Must possess a valid driver s license and obtain certification to perform euthanasia within six months of employment.
(Hiring Range: $13.27 - $17.91/hr)
