Tbday it is impossible to imagine life in the county without our purring fourwheel personal conveyance devices equipped, of course, with AC, DVD, CD, Satellite Radio, MP3, etc. But with present and future energy prices a growing concern, the cost of moving anything, including ourselves, has become a matter to be considered in daily activities. One of these days, this consideration is going to be huge.
While we don’t know when or in what form they will come, it is clear that some things about our need for and means of transportation are likely to be quite different in the future. The means were certainly different in the past, though history suggests there would (and will) be alternatives.
