Mrs. Jamieson lived in the stable, furnished with an Oriental carpet and a hot plate, while she and Jamie built their house, “High Thicket.” She was deeply involved with the Rappahannock County Library and the funding and design of its new building. Her love of fox hunting never waned, and she rode with the field several days a week into her eighties.
The Jamiesons had been married for 55 years when James died in 2003. They had no children.
