father. departed this life on April 13. 2008 at the age of 8T at the Countryside Hume for Adults in Pratts. Virginia. He was bom in New York. NY on November 18. 1020. Mr. Ziehm was a WWU veteran serving in the Army as a communication sergeant from 19391948. During that time he served in Panama and Europe. After 30 years at the Voice of America as a communication engineer, he retired in 1985. An avid ham radio enthusiast, he communicated with other operators all over the world. He was a member of Amissville Baptist Church.
He was a devoted family naan and was dearly loved by those who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 82 years. Dorothy Ziehm. a daughter. Adrienne Silvey of Amissville. a son. Richard Ziehm of Turlock. CA and five grandchildren.
Memorial services were held at Amissville Baptist Church.
