With an impressive string of individual firstplace accomplishments, the Rappahannock County High School boys and girls track teams experienced mixed results in their April 9 home competition against Strasburg.
According to head coach Scott Stephens, the boys meet was a nail-biter that “came down to the final event” with Rappahannock prevailing 66-61. The impressive individual performances helped the Panthers hold their ground, but the 4-by-400-meter relay team’s results sealed the RCHS victory.
Will Boelte and teammate Daniel Rollins celebrated personal highlights in their events: Boelte, with his first-place triple and high jump events, and Rollins with a first place finish in both the 100- and 200-meter dashes. Brook Stokes also made his presence known with an impressive victory in the long jump. These athletes’ award-winning finishes swept the jump and sprint events for Rappahannock.
