Rappahannock County High School’s varsity baseball team had a flair for the dramatic. Or at least the Panthers did Tuesday night in Berryville.
Trailing 5-4 with two out in the bottom of the seventh, Clarke County had the tying run on base.
Senior right-hander Travis Jenkins coaxed a sharply hit grounder between first and second base. First baseman L.B. Settle got his glove on the ball to keep it in the infield. Sophomore Chris Garcia backed up Settle on the play, fielded the ball and threw to Jenkins covering first base for the final out and a 5-4 Rappahannock County
