Asked if she knew the suspects who also live in Amissville, Whorton said she knew both Robert and Monica. “They come in here a lot*” she said. She also said that all three suspects including Salmon had been in the store the previous evening.
Asked if she knew of any gang involvement by Robert Fincham she said, “I just think he’s a good kid hanging out with the wrong people I guess.”
About the burglary Whorton said, “I’m just very hurt that he would do that.”
She had also seen Salmon twice before in the store prior to the burglary.
Whorton said, “It was very hurtful, but I’m glad they’re caught.”
David Jenkins - stepfather to Robert “Bobby” and Monica Fincham - said in an interview yesterday he had no idea that “D.J.” as Salmon was known to him and both Bobby and Monica was involved in a gang or wanted for murder.
