I attended what passes for a
Rappahannock County public hearing on April 24. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the proposed budgets for the county and the county public schools.
Since the school budget comprises almost 60 percent of the entire county budget, our Superintendent of Schools was, understandably, a central potential source of information for this public hearing. Yet, amazingly, he had arranged in advance to avoid answering any questions during the hearing.
Thus, attendees were treated to a parade of School Board members and public school teachers
