They not only planned all of the food for the event (including quiche, cinnamon rolls, sandwiches, turkey wraps, fruit kabobs, coffee, lemonade, and teal, they did the shopping, prepared all of the food from scratch, and sold it at the plant sale. The quiche is their recipe, made with eggs from the Farm School chickens, and sausage from Farm School pigs, both of which they care for every day. They made the pie crusts from scratch as well. This was a big undertaking for them, although they cook for the Farm School community every day, so they have a lot of practice”
My error in attributing the food to another program has the benefit of all of us now knowing the extent of the preparation and skill that w-ent into the food offerings.
Get Well Wishes
We are happy to report that Randolph Clater had successful surgery. He is at home recovering and plans to return to work at The Corner Store in about a month. Get well soon!
Self-Serve Stand
The self-serve stand is open in the barn at Waterpennv Farm. The best times to come for plants are Friday and Saturday afternoons between 4 and 5 p.m. They’ve just started to have asparagus available in the barn. Chickens have just arrived and farm fresh eggs will be available in another week or two.
