Mrs. Warwick succeeds Mrs. B. F. Miller as county chairman. Mrs. Miller did excellent work for the campaign in past years and it is the earnest endeavor of the present chairman to maintain this record. The quota for Rappahannock county is $500. “We must, in the interests of humanity, .reach or exceed this goal,” states Mrs. Warwick.
The district chairmen are: Mrs. Lily Barbel', Woodville; Mrs. B. F. Miller, Sperryville; Mrs. C. R. Hite, Peola Mills; Mrs. R. L. Massie, Flint Hill; Mrs. S. Riley, Amissville; and Mis. Charles Bruce, treasurer.
Publicity chairman is Mrs. F. M. Jones.
Mrs. Lewis Fletcher of Washington has agreed to supervise the work among the colored people of Rappahannock county.
Fires Quickly Put Out
The Rappahannock Volunteer ■Fire Department was called out Tuesday at 5:45 p.m. to answer a call at the home of Miss Lottie Burton. The chimney of the apartment in the house occupied by State Trooper William A. Buntin and family had caught fire, but was soon extinguished with no damage done.
The Culpeper Volunteer Fire Department was called to the farm of Dr| James Qiuaintance at Boston, shortly after noon Wednesday to extinguish a broom sedge fire which had gotten out of control, and which was being spread by the wind towards the buildings of the farm. The fire was brought under control before any damage resulted.
