This year the citizens are urged and requested to take the necessary steps and pnecautions to prevent forest fires from escaping from outdoor burning. If you must burn, please .select the proper day and time to do so, urges Warden Johnson. Burn only on calm, damp days after 4:00 p.m. when the wind is of a low velocity and the air is damper. Don't forget to clear a ring or plow a furrow around all brush piles.
As in the past years Warden Johnson calls your attention to the^ Brush Burning 'Law which went into effect March 1 in Rappahannock county. He quotes this law as follows: “A fine up to $110.00 may be imposed upon any person who sets fire during the period beginning March 1, and ending May 15 of each year to any brus.h or other inflamable material capable of spreading fire, located within 300 feet of any woodland, except between the hours of 4:00 in the afternoon and 13:00 midnight.
