Farmers planning to seed Ladino Clover to be used speciffcally for poultry and swine pasture are advised to seed one lb. of Red Top or Herds grass per acre along with the us,al two pounds of Ladino. This procedure will put you in line to qualify for the full seeding under our county P.M.A. program. Also the herds gjrass will not be objectionable in orchards as would orchard grass which harbors mice.

At a recent farm sale in West Virginia grade ewes with young lambs at side sold for $43.50 each while work horses fetched $52 a head. In spite of the great need for more sheep here in Rappahannock, we couldn’t object to some of the West Virginia buyers with that kind of money coming over and taking back some of our ewe flocks. . . especially when you consider the ewes in this sale were roDorted “four years old and up.”

William V. , Saville, assistant county agent of Madison and Rappahannock, who went to veterans hospital near Roanoke several weeks ago for a spinal operation supposed to correct trouble diagnosed as a ruptured disc, proved to have an inflamed ne»Ve.

Madison farmers who visited Mr. Saville in the hospital reported his surgeon stated the operation would correct Mr. Seville’s trouble, however, had the operation been delayed bat a few more days he would have been a permanent invalid.

While at present I do not have Bill’s address, it has been brought to our attention that he is with in-laws in Maryland where he will *be confined to his bed for the next six weeks.
