V.P.I. Researcher Named

Dr. Russell eKnnedy Stivers, a native of Wenona, 111., and for the past three years assistant professor of agronomy act) Perdue Univeisity, has been named asso* ciate agronomist at V.P.I. to do research work in soil fertility, Dr* H. L. Dunton, head of the agronomy department, announces.

The soil fertility work is being expanded as the result of contributions from leading fertilizer manufacturers in Virginia through the V.P.I. Educational Foundation, Inc. The gifts werai announced earlier by Dr. John R* Hutcherson, V. P. 1. chancellor, whose entire time now is devoted to the Foundation.
