Soil anff water conservation is steadily coming to the foremost in the minds of Virginia’s farmers. The state soil conservation office at Blacksburg reports that 3,366 applications frpm farmefs for help on farm planning for soil conservation now are on file.

i he Piedmont soil conservation distric, which i3 primarily agrin cultural area, leads in number of requests this year with 556. The James River district follows with 388 requests.
