Hassie Coppage Burke '
Hassie Coppage Burke died on Saturday, February 25, at 2 o’clock at her home, after having been in ill health for a number of years. She was 50 years of age, the daughter of the late Vir‘ ginia Racer and Edward Coppage, of Rappahannock county.
Funeral services were conduct~ ed by Rev. M. E. Sliger, Rev. V. R. Jackson, and Rev. Mrs. Harrington, of Front Royal, front the Washington 'Baptist church. Interment was in the family section of the Masonic Cemetery.
The active pallbearers were: her nephews, Trenton Burke, Carroll Racer, Jr., James Coppage, Calvin Racer, Leady Coppage, and John Burke, Jr. The honorary pallbearers consisted of friends and relatives.
Mrs. Burke is survived by her husband, Jmdd Burke, one son, Charles Edward ‘Burke of Washington, and three daughters, Mrs. Jack ChadweH, of Flint Hill, and Miss Louise Matfe Burke, and Miss Elizabeth Burke at home. Also surviving are three brothers, Ernest Coppage and Haywood Coppage of Culpeper; and Luther Coppage of Marshall; and three grandchildren.
Among those from out of town who attended tfie services were Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Burke, of Falls Church; Mr. and Mrs. Isaiah Burke, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Dodson and Mrs. Alice Fincham, of Berryville.
