MRS. ELSIE DISHMAN

Mrs. Elsie Dishman, 75, a native of Rappahannock county, died Thursday, February 23, at Winchester Memorial hospital.

Funeral services were held at Hopewell Baptist churcii in Sperryville Sunday with the Rev. Carroll, pastor of the church, officiating:. Interment was in Sperryville cemetery.

Pallbearers were Joe Andes, Cornelius Roy, George Aylor, Gaylord Butler, Howard Butler, and Charles Butler.

Mrs. Dishman is survived by a son, Philip J.onqs, of Middleburg, with whom she made her home; and two sisteis, Mrs. Fannie Andes, and Mrs. Martha Butler of Sperryville.

Mr. and Mrs. Philip Jones and son of Middleburg, and Miss Mary Jones of Richmond attended the services.

A dinner will be held Friday, March 10, at the Pine Knot Inn, benefit of George Washington Carver H.S. cafeteria. James Jordan is the contestant from Washington.

The P.-T.A. of the Biint Hill School will give an “Old Virginia Reel”, on Friday, March 10, at 8 p.m.

A weiner roast sponsored by the Sperryville baseball ckb will be held at the home of John Williams on Saturday, March 4, at 8 p.m. All kinds of games will also be played.

The monthly P.-T.A. meeting of Washington school will be held Tuesday, March 7, at the school at 7:30. The question to be discussed is “What Do I Expect of a Teacher?*' The highlight of the program will be some vocal selections by o>.r music supervisor, Mrs. Kathryn Wood Cahen, who has done and is doing quite a bit of radio work in this field. She recently appeared in a television broadcast in Washington, D. C.
