A telegram was sent by the board to the chairman of the House Finance Committee, Richmond, stating the board’s approval of the passage of House Bills 350-352 which will mean revenue to tne county. These bills will direct taxes from clerk’s office records, marriage licenses, wills and administrations, and recordation) taxes, to the county instead of to the state after July 1, 1952.

Permission was granted for the use of the Courthouse for a training school to. be conducted for census enumerators. This request came from Charles B. Wood of Flint Hill, who will be in charge of this training school.

Names of Joe D. Keyser, E. M. Jones, C. E. Johnson, Jr., L. H. Luttrell, Charles B. Wood, and Thomas D. Williams were recommended by the board as members of the re-assessment project. These recommended names will be presented to Judge Alexander probably at March court.

A letter was read by Clerk J. M. Settle from F. A. Saunders, assistant engineer, State Corporation Commission, regarding his interview with the board in February following the board’s resolution desiring toll-free telephone service throughout the county. Mr. Saunders stated that he had) referred the matter to the two telephone companies involved and had asked that they get facts and figures and confer with the board of supervisors at their earliest convenience.
