Three Men Injured
In Auto Wreck Sunday
Three men from Martinsburg, West Virginia were injured Saturday night when their < .1: turned over near the residence of P. M. Finks at Peola Mills.
The Wrecked automobile, a 1949 Ford, was driven by Frank Snodgrass wno was accompanied by two other men from Martinsburg. The driver was the least injured of the three men who were taken to University of Virginia Hospital. One of the men in the party suffered a fractured vertebrae and the other two received cuts and bruises. Their conditions are reported favorable.
The wrecked car, towed in by Merrill Motor Company, is reported to have turned over several times and skidded approximately 100 feet.
L. V. Merrill, owner of Merrill Motor Company stated that his wrecker had brought in five cars which had skidded on the icy highways Sunday night.
Rocket Girls Win Over
Martinsburg Legionettes
The Rocket girls team was victorious over the Martinsburg Legionettes in a score of 37 to 20 in a game played Monday evening at the gym of the Newton D. Baker Veterans Hospital at Martinsburg. The boys team was not so successful, losing to the Martinsburg Legionairres by 30 points in a score of 86 to 56.
The Rockets had hard luck when they played Falls Church at the Sperryville High School on Saturday evening. The girls’ team lost by 6 points in a score of 26 to 32. The Rocket boys lost by 14 points in a score of 40 to 54.
Engagement, Announced
Mr. and Mrs. .1. Rodes Brown of Sperryville, announce the engagement of their daughter, Ann Bragg, to the Reverend A. Paul Thompson, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Thompson, of Russellville, Missouri.
No date has been set for tinwedding.
