“Crop rotation in contour strips on sloping1 fields is a most important conservation practice/’ says T. G. Ragsdale, Supervisor of the Culpeper Soil Conservation District. Ragsdale stated that, “in order .to get the best use of the fertiliser, linte and rainfall on sloping fields, contour strips is a must.” Other farmers have also found this to be true and are developing complete farm plans in co-operation with the soil conservation district.
