these items aie the top trio on' the L. S. Dept, of Agriculture’s monthly plentiful foods list. Eggs set a production record in January, and liberal quantities are to be found on all retail markets.
Pork has been plentiful for several months, and current hog marketing are still heavy enough to keep consumers supplied with tasty and economical pork cuts. Irish potatoes usually move into the plentiful class in the spring, and this year is no exception.
March also will bring a wider variety of fresh vegetables to southern markets, wth carrots, cabbage, beets and lettuce rated plentiful. Other good buys will in* elude canned corn ami canned lima beans.
Fruits suggested for March shopping lists include apples, canned peaches, raisins, and dried prunes. Chickens, fish, manufactured dairy products and dry beans are expected to be in good .-uppiy.
