For the first Firemen’s Festival, Amissville Volunteer Fire Department is promising a complete line of entertainment, carnival fun, with rides and plenty of food and noise. Present plans include a parade Saturday, September 27, at 6 o’clock, with visiting fire departments participating.
More plans will be made public aa the big day approaches. Carder Donates Land A happy announcement has been by the new company that W. C. Corder, of Front Royal, has given land on which to erect the hopedfor fire house. The new company was pleased iwhen this news came, for where to put the fire fighting equipment- was going to be a problem.
Officers of the Amissville fire company are: Thomas H. Tear, president; Charles Green, vice-president; Graham Hackley, secretary; H. Palmer, Jr., treasurer; Charles Compton, chief; Elmer Jenkins, assistant chief; Elmer (Snooks) Lillard, captain; and Mitchell Green, lieutenant. ___
