“It is on this basis that we are supporting Senator Byrd and Congressman Harrison. We know very little about their opponents; they may be excellent gentlemen in every respect. But we do know Senator Byrd and Congressman Harrison. We have watched them fight our battles in Congress. We have observed them as they defended our Constitution and fought for our rights. And we know that the interests of the people of this Valley and of our State and Nation are safe in their hands. Because we know this we are going to support them in this election.
