W.M.S. OBSERVES DAY OF PRAYER
The Missionary Society of the Washington Baptist Church will observe Day of Prayer, Thursday, Oct. 25, at 2:30 p.m. The WMS, Lou Keyser Circle and the G.A.’s are invited to attend.
IV.S.C.S. MEETS
Mrs Nina Brown was hostess to the Woman’s Society of Christain Service of the Methodist Church on Wednesday night at 7:30 o'clock at her home with Mrs. Brown, leader. The meeting opened with hymn “From All The Dark Places” with Miss Margaret Devers at the piano. The scripture lesson from 2nd Car: 17-21 was followed by prayer. Very instructive reading on the subject, “O Tell Ye The Story” was given by Miss Nettie Bontz, Mrs. George Brown and Mrs. J. B. Johnson. One new member, Mrs. Annie Perry Jenkins, was gained, making a total of 12 members and four visitors present. At the conclusion of the meeting the hostess, assisted by Miss Betty Taylor Bruce, served refreshments and a social hour was spent.
Amissville P. T. A. Meets
The regular meeting of the Amissville P. T. A. met September 4, at 8 p.m. After brief reports from various committees, Charles Wood, a former president of the Flint Hill Parent Teacher Association gave an interesting talk on the success and work done by that organization.
The next meeting of the Amissville P.T.A. is scheduled for October 2, at 8 p.m. ^
