Growers of certified seed for planting in Virgina are listed in the 1952 Virginia Seed Certified Directory, now available from the Virginia Crop Improvement Association at VPI, Qlacksburg.
The directory lists the growers of certified seed of small grains, soybeans, fescue, red clover, tobacco, peanuts, hybird corn, sweet and Irish potatoes and cotton—along with recommendations on rates of seeding and fertilization, and the descriptions of many of the varieties. The leaflet also has suggestions on rodent and insect control.
