More Donors Needed
For filoodmobile Visit
Miss Ruth Stevens and Mrs. Paul Miller, co-chairmen for the visit of'the Red Cross Bloodmobile Unit Monday, September 22, at Reynolds Memorial Baptist church, Sperryville, are much perturbed because the quota has not been met by signatures of volunteers.
The goal of this Red Cross program is to help provide blood for hospital use, without charge, to all people of the eountry when the need arises.
Twelve pints of blood given by Rappahannock citizens through the mobile unit in March have been used by citizens of the county. Six pints were uspd in Warren County Memorial hosiptal, and six pines at University of Virginia hospital.
Some hospitals ask for a replacement when one receives the blood, but this is not compulsory. The blood is needed so desperately that some hospital authorities feel, if possible, a replacement should be made. However, if a replacement is impossible, there is no reason for a patient’s family to be too concerned, for the bleod is given by friends in the county, and this is one of the main reasons for the blood bank.
