Virginia to elect Democratic con* gressmen. Voters who are brought to the polls by party pressure are apt to vote the full party ticket.
“We believe fully in the two-party system and think that ordinarily the Republican party should put up candidates for Congress and other offices, but from long observation we are convinced that district fights in this election will help to defeat the Republican candidate for President. It would be far wiser, we think, for Democrats and Republicans first to unite in breaking the grip of the Fair Deal Socialists on the government in Washington, and then resume opr normal party oppositions or have a general .party realignment. Now is the time to fight for our country, not for mere partisan political advantage.” ,
