Reager 4-fl Wins
Cotton Bag Contest
Reager 4-H Club was selected as winner of the County Cotton Bag Contest and will send their exhibit to Richmond, to compete in the State Fair. The State winner will win a portable electric* sewing machine and attachments and second place winner will be given a portable Singer Sewing Machine for use in their club. W Only articles made from Cotton Bags were eligible to enter in this contest as the sponsors are the Cotton Bag Council and Singer Sewing Machine Co.
Clubs competing in the county contest were: Belle Meade 4-H and Reager 4-H. The project was scored by the judges, Mrs. Roberta Massie and Mrs. Elizabeth Buntin on the following points: (a) Number of girls making exhibits from feed lags, (b) Variety o£ articles made, (c) Workmanship. (d) General appearances, (e) Records completed. The girls exhibiting in this contest from Reager were Carolyn Williams, Etta Campbell, Ann Pullen, Virgie •Wines, Eleanor Pullen, Daisy Williams, Joyce Pritchett, Margaret Miller, Mary Lou Campbell, Maybelle Williams, Geneva VV'ines, and Loretta Williams.
Reager had 100% completion of their projects, So You’d Like To Sew and Make and Remake. 13 out of 15 making some articles of feed bags. The leader of Reager Club, Mrs. Barbara Gentry and Miss Mattie Robinson are to be commended for their cooperation atid help in all 4-H work.
