66 method was used and I served as chairman for my group. The Congress as a whole agreed that the biggest need was more interest from parents, teachers and others in the community. At luncheon, Phyllis Isaacs, of Campbell County, was declared* state winner. Her awards were a gold watch, a certificate of achievement and a trip to National 4-H Club Congress in Chicago. I led the 4-H Pledge at lunch and it sure sounds different when you’re up there leading everyone else!
Many counties had exhibits of the work they had done. These were all very interesting and Bedford County won the award for having the best. They also won the award for having the besTrural electrification program.
This trip is a prize worth working for and I hope that next year’s winner will enjoy it as dutch as I did.
