Feb. 10 Designated Farm Bureau Day
Tuesday, February 10 has been designated as “Farm Bureau Day” in Virginia and by many localities.
Allen Y. Stokes, president of the Rappahannock County Farm Bureau, said that the day has been set aside in recognition of the contributions county Farm Bureau members have made in the interest of agriculture and the entire community.
The Rappahannock County Farm Bureau was established in 1957, and presently has 102 family members. There are 85 county Farm Bureaus in Virginia with a total of 21,098 members.
The Virginia Farm Bureau Federation is a part of the American Farm Bureau Federation which has a membership of 1,865,854 families in the United States. The Virginia Farm Bureau received two national awards for its Local Affairs and Natural Resources programs during 1969.
