Blacksburg-Apple marketing developments, the 1970 spray program and pre-harvest treatments will be discussed as part of the 1970 fruit schools held throughout the state by the Cooperative Extension Service at Virginia Tech. Other areas that will be stressed at the schools are efficiency in orchard production, chemical weed control, and cold injury to apple trees. Some schools also will have sessions on peach production, strawberries and the orchard mouse problem and disease control, said Fred R. Dreiling, extension fruit specialist.
The school in this area will be held February 25 at Sperryville fire hall. If you are interested in attending, contact W. Rapley Owings, Washington, Va. at the Extension Service Office.
