Hodge Miller from Washington and David Thornhill from Boston won top honors at the 55th annual Little International Livestock Show presented by the Virginia Tech Block and Bridle Club on April 30.
Competing against entries from cattle, swine, sheep and horse categories, Miller won the Grand Championship in fitting and showmanship with his angus steer. Contest spokesmen said it was the first occasion that the award had been won by a freshman.
Thornhill, a junior at Virginia Tech, won the Championship in the open swine competition.
