attorney appeared unaware that a rezoning was required before action on his proposed Mountain Slopes subdivision could proceed. After the Commonwealth’s Attorney pointed out the rezoning requirement in the county subdivision ordinance, the Planners voted to hold a public hearing on the proposal.
Planner Pete Luke suggested that a procedural list for developers to follow be sent to the Board of Supervisors for endorsement. “Then we’ll send it on to our employee,” said Luke, in apparent reference to County Zoning Administrator Evan McNear.
“Your employee is the first person who should have to check off the list,” commented Commission Chairman Herbert Barksdale.
