Ft. Riley, Kan. - Army Lieutenant Colonel Samuel }. Glasker, son of Mrs. Zephyr Glasker of Woodville, was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal with Second Oak Leaf Cluster in ceremonies here. Presenting the award was Brigadier General Daniel W. French, commander of the Third Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) Region.
Colonel Glasker served as the Inspector General for the Third ROTC Region for four months. Previous to that time he commanded the 541st Maintenance Batallion also here at Ft. Riley. He held that position for 18 months.
An ROTC graduate himself, the colonel was graduated from Virginia State College, Petersburg.
Colonel Glasker has been selected to attend the Army War College in Carlisle Barracks, Pa. He, his wife Phyllis and their three children will move to Pennsylvania shortly.
