The Washington Vol. Fire Department responded to a fire on Rt. 211 May 18. May 19 the Department controlled the burning of a fire on Fodderstack Road. May 20 the company was called to a house fire on Rt. 211.

The Washington Rescue Squad responded to a call at the home of Mrs. Addie Keyser May 14. The squad took Miss Annie Miller Almond from her home to Culpeper Memorial Hospital May 23. The same day they were called to the home of Herbert Smoot in Harris Hollow.

The Chester Gap Rescue Squad took Samuel “Dicky” Williams from his home Thursday morning to Warren Memorial Hospital.

Bobby Williams was taken from Flint Hill to Warren Memorial Hospital on May 5 and May 9. On May 5 and May 14, Daphne Atkins was transported from the home of Addie Keyser to Fauquier Hospital.
