Per capita income in Rappahannock County has increased 62 per cent between 1969 and 1974, according to United States Bureau of the Census figures released this week by the Rappahannock-Rapid an Planning District Commission.
Per capita income was $1,980 in the county in 1969, $2,547 in 1972 and $3,208 in 1974. During that same period, income for residents of the town of Washington went from $2,919 to $3,892 to $4,809 in 1974.
Per capita income for the entire Plannibg District rose 60 per cent during the five year’s time and for the state as a whole, income increased 57 per cent.
In the Planning District, Fauquier County showed the largest increase (63 per cent) and had the highest 1974 per capita income ($4,492). Madison County showed the smallest increase (56 per cent) and had the lowest 1974 per capita income ($3,146).
