Scout groups are being reorganized after a summer vacation. Before Den Meetings can begin next month, at least three new leaders are needed in both Cub and Webelos groups.
Scout recruitment night at the elementary school is in late September. However, Pack 123 cannot accept any new registrations until the present members are provided leaders.
Cub dens are for boys aged through 9. These dens require one woman leader or two co-leaders with dens limited to six boys. Without sufficient leaders, there is overcrowding in the dens, reducing the effectiveness of the den meetings and programs.
Webelo dens are for boys aged 10. This is the bridge between Cub Scouting and Boy Scouts. These dens require men leaders. Camping skills are a large part of this program.
There will be a special meeting for all interested parents and adults in early September. At the meeting of Troop 143 last week, the following Scouts received merit badges and skill awards earned at Camp Rock Enon in July:
