Scouting Course
William F. Bear Jr. from Washington is attending a week-long training course for Boy Scout leaders from August 13-20, at Camp Rock Enon, near Gore.
The course, called Wood Badge, teaches the Scout program by participation and emphasizes specific leadership techniques and management skills.
Approximately 30 leaders taking part in the program will operate as a normal Boy Scout Troop, cooking meals, using and learning Scout skills, while discussing and practicing leadership^ supervisory and educational methods. Each Scouter volunteered his time to attend the course in order to be able to better present the Scouting program to boys.
