Biddle suggested that the Board not send any additional correspondence to DeMent reitterating the BZA's position since the special'use permit had been revoked.
"I don’t think we have to do anything,” agreed Gardiner and called for a motion to adjourn. All the Board members voted in favor of adjournment except Manwaring, who insisted that the matter needed further discussion.
“We’ve talked continually about grants of variance being specific so that people would know what’s being done,” he said. Gardiner inteijected that he felt the wording couldn’t be too specific. “We’ve done the best we can,” he maintained. “No, you haven’t,” countered Manwaring, citing the conflict between the building permit and the special use permit issued to DeMent. Gardiner argued that the building permit was not the BZA’s responsibility. “That was my mistake,” interjected McNear. Manwaring stated that he had a recommendation to make. “The meeting is adjourned,” Gardiner responded as he and several other BZA members gathered up papers, preparing to leave.
