"Camp Rap", day camps designed for mentally retarded youngsters and sponsored by the Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board, has successfully finished its first year. The camps were held during the months of June and July in Orange, Madison, Warrenton, and Boston, Virginia. The camps were staffed by community volunteers who devoted many hours to supervising camp activities and lending valuable support. The volunteers helped the children learn to play new games and provided guidance to them during the camp. The children worked on arts and crafts projects daily, making objects ranging from puppets to flower planters to macaroni collages. Culpeper and Rappahannock counties held “Camp Rap” in Boston at Camp Hazel River June 27 to July 1.
