This column hopes to be helpful and informative to those who enjoy life in Rappahannock County. It will touch our homes, ourselves and our county. I am open to suggestions on what you wish to reap from it.
We have a beautiful county and we should all work to keep it that way. When camping this summer keep a large trash bag in your car to pick up bottles and cans left by others. Bring them to the recycling center behind Merrill’s garage in Washington. If you don’t get to Washington often, perhaps you can persuade a neighbor who does to bring your recyclables which also include newspapers and magazines.
More energy saving ideas can be found at the Home Energy-Saving Van which is sponsored by the Virginia Farm and Home Electrification Council. It will be at the Culpeper Shopping Center from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Aug 24 and at the Southgate Shopping Center from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Aug. 25.
