“All farmers who feel their grain crops have been seriously damaged by the dry weather should get in touch with us,” Eddins said. “Those farmers who are going to destroy their crop or harvest it for other than grain should notify us prior to taking any action because we must appraise the production of the fields.”
If lack of an allotment or overplanting of an allotment kept a farmer from filing a disaster application earlier and the crop has been destroyed or harvested, the farmer should call the local ASCS Office immediately in order to establish as much crop damage evidence as possible. “This could have considerable effect on the payment,” Eddins sakl.
