Rappahannock County is facing a possible series of court suits. The Supervisors have been threatened by both a developer’s attorney over a recent rezoning denial and by the Commonwealth’s Attorney over mileage reimbursement policies. The Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) may be hit with a suit from property owners whose land adjoins a tract involved in the issuance of a contested special use permit or the BZA may eventually have to bring suit itself over the same case.
In view of all this pending legal action, Rappahannock needs to take extra care with the records kept on the various governmental meetings. We think it’s high time for the Supervisors to dig down deep into the county’s pockets and come up with the money to either repair the courthouse recording
