The Rappahannock Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on rezoning approximately 127 acres from agricultural to residential subdivision for Margaret Pryde and Mary Van Brederode on August 16 at 7:30 in the courthouse.
Attorney Douglas Baumgardner; representing the landowners at last Wednesday's Commission meeting, told the Planners that proposals called for the land on Route 211 across from the High School to be divided into three lots—one 35-acre, one 15-acre and one 87.5 acres. He explained that the rezoning is required because the owners have already cut off five other lots from the tract. (According to Rappahannock ordinances, a property owner may make up to five land divisions from a parcel with approval from the Zoning Administrator. Over five divisions requires rezoning to residential subdivision.)
Planner Newbill Miller asked if Robert A. Bridges, the contract owner of a 50acre lot behind the parcels under consideration for rezoning, had intentions of using a right-of-way from Route 211 across the three lots.
