Ruby Jenkins from the Extension Office and the personnel in the Welfate, Department also helped organize and plan the camping activities.
Junior leaders Paul Keithley, Judith Bloomer, Terry Williams and Bobby Baines assisted the instructors. Rena Mae Jenkins, Bonnie Roberts and Diane Watson helped in the lunch room and Dick and Cliff Latham bought the canoes to camp.
On Friday, the 4-H day camp ended with a special parents day. Proud moms and dads watched in sweltering 100 degree plus heat while kids competed in 4-H fun Olympics and craft contests. B' te ribbon winners in crafts will be entered in the Culpeper-MadisonRappahannock Farm Show where they will be judged on Friday at 1 p.m.
Olympic winners were:
Archery: (1st) Joe McCullough, (2nd) Gary Jenkins, (3rd) Chris Williams. The award for most impro\ed went to Cathy Aylor.
Fishing: Biggest fish—Gregory Hunter, most fish—Seth Roberts, most fish caught on one worm—David Coffey.
Diving for pennies: Dawn Watson and Tony Leake.
