Jenkins
Services for Mattie Lee Jenkins of Castleton were conducted Wednesday at the Geest Funeral Home Chapel in Culpeper by the Rev. B. A. Grimes. Burial followed in the Jenkins family cemetery near her home.
Mrs. Jenkins died Monday, July 24, 1978, at her residence following an illness of two months. She was 52.
Daughter of the late Allie and Lynda Burke Alther of Culpeper County, she was the wife of John Amos Jenkins, Sr., who survives.
She also leaves a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Ann Whorton of Amissville; two sons, John A. Jenkins, Jr. of Rixeyville and Earl L. Jenkins of Castleton; four grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Alther of Washington, D.C.
Pallbearers were Dr. William Wake, Charles Palmer, Archie ClatterbUck, James Bailey, Robert Dodson and George Whorton.
