Taxpayers in Rappahannock County, like taxpayers throughout the nation, make a lot of noise about spiraling property levies but county residents have little to scream about, according to data released by the Rappahannock-Rapidan Planning District Commission.
The Commission analyzed the real property tax rates of the counties within Planning District 9 and compared the figures to tax rates in California, the acknowledged leader in the taxpayers' rebellion. The results show PD9 as an area with relatively low property taxes.
